Today’s Scripture(s) – Mark 10:49-50

“And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called.  And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.  And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.”

The Lord spoke to my spirit to speak on this word today and He also told me the scripture to use.  I thought it was interesting that He chose this particular scripture and as I hear Him speaking in my spirit this is what He is saying:  The word today is ‘VICE’.  The dictionary defines ‘vice’ as: an immoral or evil habit or practice.  Words that describe ‘vice’: fault, failing, weakness, depravity, wickedness, corruption, flaw, blemish, imperfection, defect, shortcoming.  Some of us have a vice and some of us have vices.  Are you tired of your vice yet?  Are you ready to give it up?  Are you ready to let it go?  Some of us are trying to move forward in the Lord, but we just can’t seem to get there, we just can’t seem to touch the throne as we desire.  Is there a vice at play in your life?  I have heard someone say: “well when the Lord is ready He will take it away from me.”  This statement is full of the deception of the enemy.  This statement is a lie whispered by the enemy into the ear of the deceived whose flesh desires to and that wants to hold on to their vice.   You see ultimately ‘vice’ boils down to one word and that one word is ‘sin’.  Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”  This is what happens when we hold on to vices that we need to through off of us.  Today’s scripture is about the blind man Bartimaeus, but what we must understand is that we are a blind man when we give into and succumb to the vice or vices that have us bound.  Jesus is calling to us.  Jesus is calling for us to come to Him.  What will you cast away from you to get to Jesus?  In today’s scripture when Bartimaeus casted away his garment the Lord spoke into my spirit again that the casting off the garment was the blind man casting off the old, he rose up and went to Jesus and what did Jesus do?  Jesus asked him “…What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.  And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole.  And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.” (see Mark 10:51-52).  The Lord wants to free you from your vice, the Lord wants to free you from your vices, but you must want Him to.  Are you tired of your vice yet?  When Bartimaeus found out from the crowd that Jesus was passing by he began to cry out “….Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me” (.v47) and the crowd told him to be quiet but he cried out the more.  Are you crying out to Jesus to deliver you from you vice or are you hugging your vice close to you trying to hold onto it thinking that you are keeping it a secret?  Are you really tired of your vice yet?  Do you really want to get closer to and walk closely with the Savior?  Throw off the old and allow the Lord to deliver and heal you.  Believe that He can and will.

Today’s Prayer:

Father I thank you for your goodness and your mercy that follows me today.  I thank you Father for being so good to me.  Thank you Father for loving me and caring for me and keeping me and shielding me and protecting my life, I thank you Father for providing all that I have need of. Don’t allow me to falter or to fail Father.  Lord, don’t allow me to be deceived by the enemy and Father please do not allow me to deceive myself.  Father I thank you, Father I bless you, Father I give you all glory.  You are so good me and you are so great.  Thank you for your mercy and your grace on my life.  Thank you for your word and thank you for giving me a mind to renew my mind in your word.  Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight Father.  Keep the door of my lips and bridle my tongue Lord.  Fill my heart with your word Father God, create in me Lord a clean heart renew a right spirit within me Father.  Give me a renewed hunger and thirst for your Word, for you Lord.  Let no iniquity have dominion over me Father God.  Blessing and honor and glory and power to you Almighty King, blessing and honor and glory and power to you Lord, you are everything! I love you Lord, I bless you Lord I praise your holy name.  I love you Lord, I bless you Lord you’re worthy of all praise.  In Jesus name I pray. Amen

If You Have Not Made Jesus Lord Of Your Life Pray This Prayer:

Today Lord, right this very minute I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I need a Savior. Your word says that there is no other name under heaven by which a man or woman can be saved and that name is Jesus. Today I repent of every sin that I have ever committed, I repent of every sin that I have done and I ask you Jesus to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. I believe that you Lord Jesus shed your precious blood and died for my sins, I am willing to turn from sin and live a life that is holy and pleasing in your sight. I now invite you Christ Jesus to come into my heart and live in me and be my personal Savior. I ask that you would fill me with your precious Holy Spirit, lead and guide me in this life Lord Jesus. Thank you for saving my soul. Amen.
