Today‘s Scripture(s) – 1 Chronicles 29:11; James 4:7a

“Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.” …. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. …..”

How many of us are truly walking in a place of total surrender to the Lord our God? I was looking at some pictures of the vastness of His handiwork. Canyons, mountains, stones; huge stones laid one upon another, oceans; swelling, crashing, the sunset, the moon rise, the stars set in the sky and more. I meditated on the greatness of the God that we serve, the awesomeness of His power and tears ran down my face as I sat trembling in His presence and what came to my mind is: total surrender. Not surrendering to man’s ideals but surrendering to the Lord our God the Maker of Heaven and Earth. Not surrendering to what we think individually but surrendering to the Lord our God in total obedience, in total submission. Putting away from ourselves everything and I mean everything that we know He does not like. We should not take the sacrifice that the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ made for us for granted. We take Him for granted when we willfully sin, when we do things that we should not do and we know it. Hebrews 10:26 “For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.” Those who try to justify their willful sin with: “I’m only human” is deceived by the enemy. 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” If we say we are in Christ we are no longer the old man and therefore we do not do the things the old man use to do, the old man is dead and Christ lives within us and the Spirit of God that is within us will compel us not to willfully sin. Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Am I saying that we will not sin? NO I am not, what I am saying is that we will not continue to sin at will and be okay with it and say “It’s okay for me to cuss someone out, I’m covered by the blood of Jesus, It’s okay for me to fornicate, I’m covered by the blood of Jesus, It’s okay for me to lie, cheat and steal, I’m covered by the blood of Jesus, It’s okay for me to take drugs, I’m covered by the blood of Jesus, It’s okay for me to drink and be drunk, I’m covered by the blood of Jesus, It’s okay for me to smoke, I’m covered by the blood of Jesus, It’s okay for me to commit adultery, I’m covered by the blood of Jesus.” I could go on and on with examples, but know this: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17. A complete surrendering to the God of our Salvation has to take place in our lives and it cannot be done without getting in His presence on a daily basis, it cannot be done without getting in His Word and allowing His Word to get in us. Luke 21:33-34 “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.”

Today‘s Prayer:

Father I thank you for this day, thank you for your goodness your mercy and your grace. Thank you Father for your love and your kindness, I thank you Father for all things.  If You Have Not Made Jesus Lord Of Your Life Pray This Prayer:

Today Lord, right this very minute I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I need a Savior. Your word says that there is no other name under heaven by which a man or woman can be saved and that name is Jesus. Today I repent of every sin that I have ever committed, I repent of every sin that I have done and I ask you Jesus to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. I believe that you Lord Jesus shed your precious blood and died for my sins, I am willing to turn from sin and live a life that is holy and pleasing in your sight. I now invite you Christ Jesus to come into my heart and live in me and be my personal Savior. I ask that you would fill me with your precious Holy Spirit, lead and guide me in this life Lord Jesus. Thank you for saving my soul. Amen.
