Today‘s Scripture(s) – (Read Luke 18:35-41) (Read Luke 19:1-10)

Luke 18:40-41; Luke 19:5

“And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.” ….. “And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.”

What will you do to cause the Lord to ‘stop’ and take notice of you? What will you do to see the Lord? You see in the first scripture reading a blind man sat by the way side and he heard the multitude approaching and asked what was happening and they told him that Jesus was coming that way and he began to cry out to the Lord Jesus to have mercy on him but the people told him to be quiet. Did he close his mouth and not cry out to the Lord because the people told him to? NO he did not, as a matter of fact he cried out even louder and more. He cried out to the Lord Jesus to have mercy on him so much so that even in the crowd that was going by and Jesus had already passed by our great and wonderful Lord heard the heartfelt cry of this blind man and He stopped moving to attend to his cry. And then there is Zacchaeus, a man short in stature. He wanted to see Jesus, the multitude was coming through and because of his stature there was no way that he would be able to even catch a glimpse of the Lord. What did he do? He climbed a tree to be able see above the crowd because he wanted to see the Lord, that bad! When our wonderful Savior reached to where Zacchaeus was, up in that sycamore tree, the Lord stopped again, (yes, He stopped, no one talks directly to someone passing right by them), our Lord Jesus stopped looked up and saw Zacchaeus and He called him by name and told him to make haste and come down because He (the Lord Jesus), ‘must’ abide at his (Zacchaeus’), house, today. We read these verses but what we must really take note of is the way they are worded. In the blind man’s case the Lord commanded that he be brought directly to Him. In Zacchaeus’ case the Lord made a point that He ‘must’ abide at his house that day. What was it that they did that caused our Lord Jesus to stop and take notice? They were tenacious about getting an audience with the Lord Jesus Christ. Where is our tenacity toward the Lord? Where is our tenacity when it comes to really getting before the Lord, really getting in His presence, really getting in His word, really developing real relationship with the one we say is our Lord and Savior? We will cry out to the Lord for 2 seconds about our issue and when he does not bring the answer quick enough we stop praying. We will seek the Lord when and where it’s comfortable for us but when we have to climb and go above and beyond our place of comfort we’d rather get lost in the crowd. What will you do to cause the Lord to stop and take notice of you? What will you do to see the Lord and cause His eyes to settle upon you? What will you do to have the Lord stop and say ‘come closer’? What will you do to have the Lord stop and say ‘I must abide with you today“?

Today‘s Prayer:

Father I thank you for this day, I thank you for your love and your kindness and your mercy and your grace. I thank you Father God that your grace is sufficient for me today. I thank you Father for your goodness and your mercy that follows me all the days of my life. I thank and praise you Father God that I will dwell in your house forever. I thank you Father for being so good to me. Lord I need you to cause tenacity to seek you, tenacity to pray more, tenacity to dig into your word more I need you Lord to cause tenacity for these things to rise up within me. I need you Lord to cause tenacity to be in your presence, to stay in your presence, to lay at your feet, to cry out to you in purity of heart, I need you Lord to cause tenacity for these things to rise up within me. To know you more and more, to seek you more and more to not give up and to not give in. To not listen to the voice of the enemy, to not walk in doubt to not walk in fear, to not walk in anything that would hinder me from running after you, that would hinder me from not fulfilling the purpose that you have put within me to bring you glory and honor, the purpose you have gifted me with to touch souls and bring souls into your kingdom Father God. I need you Lord to anoint me to do what is necessary to do everything that is necessary to see your kingdom come and your will be done in my life and the lives of all those that you have assigned to my life, all those that you have attached to my life. Father I thank you. I need you Lord to cause a push within me to be in your presence no matter what it takes. A push to see you, open the eyes of my heart Lord, a push to hear you, open my ears Father God, no matter what it takes. Help me Holy Spirit to press, press, press into the presence of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Father I thank you and praise you and honor you and glorify your name. I give you all the glory you are so good and so great. Bless you Father God, so wonderful and righteous and true. Bless you Father God bless your great and holy name. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

If You Have Not Made Jesus Lord Of Your Life Pray This Prayer:

Today Lord, right this very minute I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I need a Savior. Your word says that there is no other name under heaven by which a man or woman can be saved and that name is Jesus. Today I repent of every sin that I have ever committed, I repent of every sin that I have done and I ask you Jesus to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. I believe that you Lord Jesus shed your precious blood and died for my sins, I am willing to turn from sin and live a life that is holy and pleasing in your sight. I now invite you Christ Jesus to come into my heart and live in me and be my personal Savior. I ask that you would fill me with your precious Holy Spirit, lead and guide me in this life Lord Jesus. Thank you for saving my soul. Amen.
