A Prayer A Day 1/21/2016 – Make Good On It
(Psalm 66:13-14 “I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows, Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.”)
“Lord if you get me out of this, Lord if you open this door, Lord if you handle this situation, Lord if… I will…” Have you uttered anything that sounds like this? Many of us have and when the Father actually does what we have asked of Him, how many of us made good on our vow? How many of us still have vows that we have made to the Father that we need to, make good on? Let’s look at the definition of, vow. Vow – An earnest promise to perform a specified act or behave in a certain manner, especially a solemn promise to live and act in accordance with the rules of a religious order; to promise solemnly; to make a pledge. Sounds quite serious, doesn’t it? Oh, when the vow is made it is a serious situation we find ourselves to be in, the thing is, we must remember the vow that we may have made at that crucial time and we must make good on it. If you read the whole of Psalm 66 you will find that the Psalmist starts out with praise to God. Then he speaks of the troubles he has encountered and then he says that he will pay the vows that he has made to the Father. He acknowledges …..(Click link to read prayer.
