Praise God for His mercy! What exactly is mercy? Mercy is compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm (benevolence, blessing, charity, clemency, generosity, goodwill, grace, leniency, pity, sympathy, tolerance, kindness, forbearance, favor). Wow! And the Lord has and shows all of this toward us, even when, even though we do not deserve it. And, as the heaven is high above the earth, ‘so’ great is His mercy toward them that are in awe of Him that respect Him and those that reverence him, to them that fear Him. Take a look up into the sky. We can see the clouds, we can see the sun, we can see the moon, we can see the stars and we can see the birds flying about, but, we cannot with the naked eye see heaven. That’s how much mercy our Lord has toward us. Just the thought of the mercy the Lord has toward me brings tears to my eyes as I know that my life has not been perfect. I know the things in this life I have done that displeased the Lord. I know the things in this, my life I have done and said that to even think on them now causes me to cringe, but my Lord God the Father has had great mercy toward me.
