A Prayer A Day 7/26/2016 – Is Your Temple Dedicated?
Today’s Scripture(s) – 2 Chronicles 7:1
“Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.”
This morning when I opened my bible the Lord took me to 2 Chronicles chapter 6. This entire chapter is prayer and supplication by Solomon to the Lord God of Israel, in dedication of the temple to the Lord. Verse 2 of chapter 6 Solomon says: “I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling forever.” (I need you to hear this in your spirit Child of God.) The Spirit of God does not and will not dwell in an unclean temple. 1 Corinthians 3:16 “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” 2 Corinthians 6:16 “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” Solomon begins to pray in chapter 6 look at verse 13, His posture of prayer, humility and humbleness, he kneels before the Lord with outstretched up lifted hands toward the heavens and he worship’s God the Father acknowledging who He is: “… O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; …” And as he prays his prayer turns toward the people walking before God…..(click to read prayer. (This Week’s Scripture of Encouragement):
2 Chronicles 7:3
“And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshiped, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.“
