A Prayer A Day 11/2/2016 – Do You Know Where You Are Sitting?
Today’s Scripture(s) – Ephesians 2:4-6
There is a phrase that I do not like. I’ve heard it many times in my life. In my opinion it is a phrase that the enemy whispered and many Christian’s have bought into. What is this phrase? It is: “Don’t be so heavenly minded that you become no earthly good.” This phrase, to me, is contrary to what I have read in the word of God. Psalm 1:2 “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Colossians 3:2 “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.” How can we truly follow any of these verses of scripture and not become heavenly minded?
