A Prayer A Day 03/30/2017 – Broken And Contrite
Today’s Scripture(s) – Psalm 51:17; Psalm 19:12-14
The Lord hears your cry, you who desire to do His will, you who seek to know Him more, you who want to hear His voice, you who strive to be holy, pure, right and clean before Him. What is a broken and contrite heart? A broken and contrite heart is a heart that is meek, humble and truly remorseful for sin and transgression against God the Father. This takes us to – Today’s Scripture Verse(s) “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” Psalm 51:17. “Who can understand his errors? Cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:12-14. Last night as I lay before falling off to sleep with tears I said to the Lord “I just want my life to be right before you Father, help me.” Many of us today take for granted our salvation. Yes, I know that that is a heavy statement to make, but it is true. We feel as if we are totally just in the things that we do. Why do I say this?
