Today’s Scripture(s) – Philemon 15-16
“For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him forever; Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in flesh, and in the Lord?”
When the Lord led me to Philemon this morning, which is only one chapter, I read it and re-read it and I realized that Paul was asking Philemon to take Onesimus back, Onesimus who had been such a great help to Paul, whom Paul called his son he had begotten while in jail, a prisoner of Jesus Christ (see v9 & 10). When I got to verse 15-16 the Lord spoke to my heart about the backslidden. We as saints of God are to pray for the backslidden. Pray that they come back into the Kingdom. Pray them back into the Kingdom of God! While sitting and talking with the Lord also this morning the Lord spoke to my heart to tell you. Hell is real. Hell is real and that no sin will enter into Heaven. Backsliders that do not return to the Lord, who do not repent of their sins and turn their hearts to the Lord and seek to live holy to God the Father will find themselves in Hell at the end, whether the end is death as we know it or when Jesus comes to Judge the earth. If there is anyone that you know that is in a backslidden state, admonish them to turn their hearts and mind back to the Lord, our God is merciful and gracious ” The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.” Psalm 103:8. “The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.” Psalm 145:8. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9. Are you in a backslidden state? Turn your heart and mind and soul back to the Lord. Do it now. Don’t wait, none of us know the time or the hour that we will be required and our time on this earth will be up. Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” All will stand before the judgment seat of Christ “For we all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10. Please do not allow the enemy to deceive you. Don’t allow the enemy to tell you that the sin that you do is okay, ‘God understands that you are flesh’. Our God the Father commands Leviticus 20:7 “Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.” 1 Peter 1:15-16 “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” Don’t let the enemy trick you ‘conversation’ is living, conversation means in your life. We must pray the backslidden into the kingdom and we must touch the sinner and tell them about Christ and admonish them to come to the cross, to come to Jesus, NOW is the time!
Today’s Prayer:
Father I thank you and praise you for your goodness and your mercy, thank you Father for waking me up this morning and thank you Father for keeping me and keeping watch over me as I slept, thank you for your loving touch today Father God. Thank you for your mercy and your grace. Thank you for your love and your kindness. I thank you Lord for everything that you are doing and have done in my life. Lord I lift up to you today the backslider, I lift up to you today Father the unsaved, I lift them before you Father God and I ask that you would send your child to touch their hearts today with your Love, with your word with your Son Jesus Christ, cause the backslidden and the sinful man to hear your voice, cause their heart to be softened to hear you Lord allow their hearts to be pricked so that they will ask ‘what must I do to be saved’. Father we don’t know all of what someone has gone through in their lives that may have caused them to succumb to the enemy and fall or falter but give, to us your children, the wisdom and speak to our hearts with what and how to minister to those whose path we cross that are in a backslidden state. Give to us your children Father God the wisdom and speak to our hearts with what and how to minister to those whose path we cross that have not accepted you Lord Jesus into their lives and asked you to be their Lord and to save them. Help us Father your children to be diligent and determined to reach the lost, help us Holy Spirit to not give up and to not give in, but that we would be steadfast and unmovable in you Lord and in your word, determined to be obedient, determined to touch lives for your glory Father God, determined to live lives that are holy and right before you. Keep us Father God always ready to give an answer for the hope that is within us. Father I praise you for the return or the backslider and I praise you for the saving of the sinner. I thank you Father God for the hearts that you will touch today, for the souls that will come into your kingdom and not only will they come into your kingdom but they will remain, they will have the fire of your Holy Spirit upon them and they will continue in the gospel. Bless you Father God, I worship you Father God, I glorify and exalt you and give you all praise. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
